Lower Heat Levels. You can probably figure out that the furnace needs repairs if it only blows cold air, but the same holds true if the air is warm but not quite as warm as you’re expecting

Furnaces often lose their efficiency as they age especially if they have not been properly maintained. As a result your furnace may run longer to provide the same amount of heat. This will cause your gas & electric bills to go up.

As a furnace gets older and is not maintained properly it’s filter and ducting system loses the integrity to properly filter dust and allergens like a newer system would. When a furnace pumps out hot dry air into your home this could cause wood floor and furniture to dry crack. Newer systems have humidifiers that can circulate better during dry cold months. The ideal humidity level in a home is 45-50%

Furnaces have motors that blow the warm air through all the rooms. These motors as they age or if not maintained cause rooms to not heat in locations farther from the heating unit. This could be also do to a leaky air duct.

A furnace has a variety of parts in them that all sync together to properly heat and maintain certain temperatures. This includes, Motors, belts, ignition systems, computer boards, signal senders, mercury, gas line valves and more. If one part of the unit does not sync with the rest of the furnace this can cause electrical buzzes, noises, sometimes even thuds.

Surprising enough a furnace that constantly runs may not be a home heating  issue but a actual furnace motor issue. Motors that constantly run usually are signs that the thermostat has become disengaged and or their is other issues going on like filtration.
